Eight of Cups, general description
Eight of Cups is the 56th card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaning.
Eight of Cups is one of the three cards of the Tarot deck that symbolizes hitting the road, a heavyhearted farewell. It shows that we leave behind our usual environment, the people and things that are close to our heart and start our journey for the unsure future.
We always go voluntarily, not because we are made to but it can happen that we don’t have any other choice. The especially serious meaning of the card lies in the double burden: we have to give up something that was precious to our heart plus our way leads to the unknown.
Eight of Cups (negligence), standing
You lost your interest with something that is really important to you. You were made to let something go in which you’ve put a lot of energies and love. You’re chasing profane and physical pleasures, excluding the opportunity of spiritual and emotional progress. Emotional withdrawal, lethargy.
Eight of Cups (Negligence), reversed
Realizing that something that you thought to have been important, isn’t. You can get over something in which you put a lot of energy and love. The beginning of an inner journey to understand the higher forms of existence. Realizing something that can make life really the fullest.
