I Ching Hexagrams – Oppression: meaning of the lines
Line 1: We are in a very difficult situation, in which our wishes, just as dense bushes, obstruct our way. Proceeding is slow and difficult. Calm down our mind. Don’t let fame, position and richness influence us.
Line 2: The second line is imprisoned by a favor. Favors are frequently given in exchange for something but the price we pay for it is often too high. Right now beware of asking any favor (help).
Line 3: We are trapped by ignorance or selfishness. We can’t meet (it locks us up) with our partner, wife.
Line 4: A late opportunity can give hope. Accept temporary humiliation to be successful.
Line 5: This line marks a person who is trapped by his/her own kindness. Although he/she is a virtuous person with a high status, his/her kindness is harnessed. Stay virtuous and don’t stoop to the scale of evil.
Line 6: Here pride and showing off can detain us. Regret can help improving the situation. A new beginning can bring luck.
