Queen of Pentacles: general, standing and reversed meaning

Queen of Pentacles, general description

Queen of Pentacles is the 36th card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaning.

Queen of Pentacles represents the feminine side of Earth. She is the incorporation of permanence, kindness, trustworthiness, realistic thinking, diligent, fertility, sensual and emotional joys. She has a gift for nature and to the fertile soil, which is best exemplified by the peasant woman. The card can show a good hand at managing financial values: this manifests in the figure of the austere and spirited victualler, Mother Courage.

Although her fertility and sensuality make her the thoughtful mother of a big family, she can also become a talented artist or a woman not only seeking sensual pleasures but who is open and sensitive for all the joys of life. The exaggeration of such dispositions will lead to bitter sturdiness or shameless, hedonist laziness.

Queen of Pentacles, standing

The watery form of the earth’s essence, just like a hot water spring. A kind, warm-hearted host. Someone who protects and offers comfort to the needy. A firm, practical, so to speak cozy personality who in most of the cases can establish stability and prosperity. Maturity and sensibility with self-esteem.

Queen of Pentacles, reversed

The watery aspect of earth’s dark essence, just like ice. A cold but generous host who is motivated by the establishing and keeping welfare. A person who is lost in pursuing or keeping material and emotional security. Someone who casts light upon others’ weaknesses thus creating suspicion and insecurity.
