Six of Cups: general, standing and reversed meaning

Six of Cups, general description

Six of CupsĀ is the 54th card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaning.

This card leads to the past. It shows our memories on which we ponder with romantic daydreaming or desirous nostalgia. This painful, sentimental view can increase or distort and obscure our current sensation.

Since this card often recalls old times, with certain questions it can refer to our childhood or to experiences sunk into our memory in our early childhood.

Six of Cups (pleasure), standing

You open your heart for life’s small pleasures. Pleasant memories that fulfill you with playful love of life. Being devotedly kind. The harmony of natural forces without effort. Meeting an old friend.

Six of Cups (pleasure), reversed

You are reserved from the small pleasures of life. Escaping to the past. Rejecting growing up and adulthood. Despising devoted kindness. It can mean sexual immaturity or insecurity. It can mean an old friend leaving.
