Temperance, general description

Temperance is the 15th card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaning.

The meaning of the card will be easier to understand if we name it “the right measure”. In the Tarot deck the following card, the Devil, is the opposite of the incarnation of the temperance.

Harmony, balance, self-command and inner peace. This means the joyful experience of health and poise of mind, the fact that we treat ourselves well, we love ourselves and thus we live in harmony with our environment as well. According to the background of the question the card can also mean heal, recovery.

Tranquility and self-restraint. Self-control, patience, sense of delicacy in queasy situations. The balancing of aspiritual and physical forces, energies.


Temperance, reversed

Lack of self-control and impetuosity. Losing temper. Dissipated power in personal, business and spiritual conflicts.
