The Lovers: general, standing and reversed meaning

The Lovers, general description

The Lovers is the 7th card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaningThe card of the Lovers unites two subjects. It refers to relevant experiences of love but it also casts light upon the fact that this needs a decision: we have to give upon the way we lived before (family house, bachelor lifestyle, flirting) and we have to commit ourselves to our love. This is the only step that takes us to the overwhelming experience that the card of The Lovers shows.

Back in the old days the card had a different name: it was called The Card of the Decision. It can also mean some necessary decisions that have nothing to do with love. In this case the card means we have to decide wholeheartedly without displease or leaving behind loopholes. It’s only the background of the question that shows which of these two subjects does the card refer to. It however always means a big yes without any reservation.

The Lovers, standing

A careful, trustworthy relationship. Beauty and inner harmony. A decision that gives you a prod to emotional control and belief in spiritual values.

The Lovers, reversed

Inner torture, frustration, suspicion and controversy in a relationship. Leaving real intimacy favored by gust. Disbelief.
