The Magician: general, standing and reversed meaning

The Magician, general description

The Magician is the 2nd card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaning.

The Magician symbolizes smartness, dexterity, self-awareness and an active lifestyle. It shows a period in which we can deal even with difficult problems and successfully face challenges with increased consciousness and alert wisdom.

Although this card depicts the power of our consciousness it doesn’t mean that emotions and other unconscious forces could be neglected. It’s just the opposite: The exceptionally influential power and efficiency symbolized by the Magician is based on the profound harmony between conscious and unconscious mind. The inner security arising from all these is the only thing that can move mountains.

The Magician, standing

Master of words, mind and material. The ability to make actions from ideas, the ability to guide life. The possibility of new concepts and amazing works. A novel lifestyle. Eloquence and continuous communication. Mystical and gruesome technologies.

The Fool, reversed

Tricks, demagoguery and master disguise. Use of knowledge for a selfish goal or for the pleasure of destroying. Use of knowledge in a menial way. Incompetence and insecurity. Weak will. A fatal mistake in an outstanding product.
