Wheel of Fortune: general, standing and reversed meaning

Wheel of Fortune, general description

Wheel of Fortune is the first card of the Major Arcana. It is part of Fatecaster’s Tarot card list that summarizes the Rider Waite Tarot cards’ meaning.

Wheel of Fortune, depending on how we face our fate, can either refer to our incapability and helplessness or to a certain life experience that helps our improvement and maturation. At the level of actions, this card shows such situations whose progress isn’t yet possible to be influenced. The descending side of it means that our plans just won’t come into realization.

Weather, traffic, a protest at the airport, the revenge of the objects or some other higher power balks our plans. In this case, the card shows that it’s not (yet) the time to follow through our intentions. The cards at the other positions can give us useful guidance in order to find the other, ascending side of the Wheel. This can mean lucky, pleasant and, even, surprising changes.

Wheel of Fortune, standing

The road of destiny. In a wilder sense karma. An unexpected twist of luck. Connection in the series of events. Success, luck and joy.

Wheel of Fortune, reversed

An unexpected, lucky turn of events. Sudden break of the events. Negative outer impacts. Inevitable break in fate or karma. Important changes that were triggered by previous actions and are irreversible. Misfortune, failure and resistance against free will.
